Just wanted to poke my head in between rounds and give a hearty hello to folks heading over from Yahoo! Poke around, let me know if you see anything you like, and feel free to ask questions — and those of you who want to unload on me for dissing vodka, go ahead but please keep it clean. It’s a friendly kind of place.
Regular readers or web wanderers who have no idea what I’m talking about can point their browsers over here, where this site and your humble narrator are featured as Yahoo! Picks.
Okay, I’m done. Back to the bar.
Wow! Nice Yahoo! profile. I had no idea you were so interesting.
It was a surprise to me, as well. I just put up a good front.
I was just watching the BlogAds stats, pulling my hair out and wondering, “How in the hell is Clarke getting all this traffic?!” and now I know:
It’s the handsome photo.
Congratulations, Paul, that was a terrific write-up.
Re: vodka
The only mixed drinks I find it useful for are vodka tonics and white russians.
However, I think it’s extremely interesting plain. It’s fascinating to me that despite being called flavorless, there is such a difference in flavor between different vodkas – sometimes subtle, but often quite obvious. In fact, the only vodka I find truly flavorless is Grey Goose, and for that I find it uninteresting.
For a few very different flavors, compare: Ciroc, Chopin, Hangar 1, Xellent.
IMO, some different flavors…
Straight:
Grey Goose, Belvedere, Vox, Ketel One
Salty:
Armadale, Youri Dolgoruki, Xellent
Sweet:
Ciroc, Hangar 1, Crater Lake, Citadelle
And for a couple of really bizarre (in my opinion, unpleasant) flavors, try:
3, Vermont White Milk
[…] Moscow Mule is actually a very important and influential drink, though I’m sure there are many folks out there who are not thankful for its influence. Before there was Bond, there was the Mule. […]
